I was attempting to install Exchange 2010 SP1 in my HyperV VM.
Configuration as follows:
Windows 2008 R2 SP1 OS and DC/GC
Exchange 2010 SP1
Readiness failed due to 5 requirements of IIS 3 authentication and 2 compression
Cancelled the setup and installed all IIS requirement.
Re-run the setup and Readiness passed but installation failed with the following error
“An error occurred with error code ‘2147504141’ and message ‘The property cannot be found in the cache.'”
7. Followed below steps and unchecked the Time sync from VM
- Open the Hyper-V Manager console.
- Right-click the virtual machine on which you want to install Exchange Server 2010, and then click Settings.
- On the Settings tab, click the Management section, and then click Integration Services.
- Click to clear the Time synchronization check box, and then click OK.
- Install Exchange Server 2010 on the virtual machine.
8. Restarted the server and rerun the setup.
9. Installation failed with the following error.
Property IsHubTransportServer cannot be set on this object because it requires the object to have version 0.1 (8.0.535.0) or later. Current version of the object is 0.0 (6.5.6500.0).
10. Deleted action regkey from the following registry path but no luck
HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftExchangeV14
Under the HubTransportRole, ClientAccessServerRole and MailboxServerRole.
11. Deleting the server object present at the following location through ADSIEdit fixed the issue.

The step which you mentioned about deleting the server object means that the server will never be used . Its like doing a fresh installation .what if it was a production server.
I am not sure what are u trying to do
Are u trying to do uninstall exchange manually.
If you are doing so
We need to this
Stop all exchange related services
HKLM\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\Delete all MsExchange related services
Delete all the Meftsql -exchange keys (These are actually for the search )
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange server\v14-delete the exchange keys
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Exchange_ delete the key
Reboot the server
In this case ,This is only done when u wanna do a /m:Recoverserver
This will pull all the information from the AD.
This will work only if the server object is there in the AD (Adsiedit.msc)
If you delete the server object from AD (adsiedit.msc)
Then it will be like doing a fresh installation
Run Setup.com /pl
Run setup.com /ps
RunSetup.com /preparead
Run setup.com /mode:install /roles:h,c,m
There are some issues where in there is some corruption in the configuration partition and u are doing a fresh installation (ie first server in the new organisation)
take a system state backup
delete the Microsoft Exchange Container in adsiedit.msc
then run setup.com /preparead which will create a new container.
There are scenarios wherein there are multiple security groups formed in (Microsoft Exchange Security Objects)this happens when u run preparead multiple times
In that there is an attribute called “Wellknownobjects ” where u have deleted objects which needs be removed using LDP.
Hope this comes handy

Hi Prashant,
If you would like to re-read the article carefully then you will get all the answers. This issue comes while installing exchange 2010 with SP1. There is no microsoft KB and I am not sure if their is any SOX or SR is there in VKB which you can refer. This is only article which is providing the solution to the users who are getting this specific error while running exchange 2010 setup.
Do let me know if you have any more concern.
