Exchange 2016 Mobile Device
Mobile device management with Exchange 2016 can be divided that to four topics:
- Configure user mobile device setting.
- Configure Exchange active sync (EAC) virtual directory
- Configure mobile device policies
- Configure mobile device rule
Configure user mobile device setting

Open EAC > Recipients > mobile device > then you have three choices:
- Disable Exchange Activesync
- Disable OWA for devices
- View details
- Disable Exchange Activesync

On View details you will be able to
- Assign mobile device policy

Manage the assigned mobile with options:
- View mobile details
- Allow
- Block
- Wipe
- Create a mobile device rule with this phone type
- Delete
- View mobile details
- Assign mobile device policy
Configure Exchange active sync (EAC) virtual directory
- Open EAC > Servers > Virtual directories > Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync > edit

Then you can define the internal and external URL
- On authentication you can define the authentication method and client certificate authentication as below:
And that can be configured using exchange management shell using command “Set-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory” as below:

Configure mobile device policies
- Open EAC > mobile > mobile device mailbox policies > add

Then you should specify the below:
- Policy name
- Allow or not the devices that not support this policy.
- Password restriction if required
That also can be defined through shell using the command “New-MobileDeviceMailboxPolicy” as below:

Configure mobile device rule
You can define rule to configure how to deal with each device family
- Open EAC > mobile > mobile device access > device access rule > add

You should specify the below:
- Mobile family
- Mobile model

Action that will be taken:
- Allow
- Block
- Quarantine
- Allow
- Mobile family
To deal with quarantine device that should be done as below steps:
- Open EAC > mobile > mobile device access > Quarantined devices
Then you will have option to:
- Allow
- Block
- Add device
